From Engineers to Chocolatiers – How it All Began:

Thomas, Mathias and Christian were fed up with their studies and with the poor nutritional quality of the snacks they had at hand. As nothing on the market suited their needs, they took matters into their own hands and made their own chocolate that did not contain sweeteners, cheap fillers or animal ingredients.

Armed with their nutrient-dense prototype, the boys were ready to start their own company.

The nu company was founded on the belief that true enjoyment comes from knowing that all parties involved in producing food: people, animals and the environment, are well taken care of. Each snack uses as little resources as possible in production, protecting the planet and acting as a role model for future generation.

The startup firmly believes that a positive carbon footprint is possible. That's why they not only work as sustainably as possible along the entire production chain, but also invest in the reforestation of forests.

1 Billion Tree Project:

With the grand vision of a restored planet in mind, the nu company has planted over 10 million trees to date. Their goal is to plant 1 billion trees by 2030.

Forests are among the most important CO ² stores on earth. They are home to an enormous variety of species and are the basis of life for humans and animals. However, global forest areas have sharply declined in recent decades due to increasing settlement, agricultural use, illegal deforestation and resource extraction.

This reforestation project is supported by Eden Reforestation Projects. The non-profit, non-governmental organization is active in nine countries and plants almost a million trees every day. In addition, Eden provides local people with stable employment, access to further training and their own income.
